Direct Student Loans
Loans made through this program are referred to as Direct Loans, because eligible students and parents borrow directly from the U.S. Department of Education at participating schools.

This includes all Financial Aid Staff, supervisors of Financial Aid Administrators, Business Office personnel who deal with loans and anyone who otherwise has responsibility, authority or involved in decision making regarding student loans.
- Federal Stafford Loans are guaranteed by the Department of Education and are not credit-based. Repayment does not begin until six months after the student graduates, stops attending or drops below half-time status.
- Private loans are unsecured loans made by a lender with a higher interest rate and require a credit check. Repayment on these loans typically begins upon disbursement of the loan.
